Brand Image and Tone of Voice
[Design + Writing]
The Brief
WeSlides is a Content creation platform powered by AI. This digital product works with a remote team located in different parts of the world.
We joined the project only a few hours after they had decided on the product's name, with the UX quite advanced and the AI expert already working on the architecture.
They were looking for the brand identity: visual items, logo, tone of voice, and overall marketing strategy. Time was of the essence, as they expected an alpha release of their MVP in less than a month.
We set up a team with a Brand Strategist, Designer, and Content Writer.
Our Work
Brand Strategy
The Brand Strategist worked on the research and analysis documents. The deliverables for this task were:
-
Market Research
-
Competitors Analysis
-
Brand Analysis
-
SWOT and how to apply it to marketing
This primary research allowed us to clearly understand where our clients were and how we could help them uniquely position the brand to stand out from their competitors.
It also helped us find the right tone of voice for the brand, so the designers would have a better approach to design.
The documents generated were first validated by the client; once we're all on the same page, those documents were then handed over to the Designer and the Content Writer to begin working on the deliverables.
Content Writing
The Writer concluded that the best approach for this product was easy read, and to-the-point text. As Content Creation platforms powered by AI are currently on the rise it was best to go with a simple text format as to not confuse or complicate the copy.
As WeSlides was more focused on the product and its usability than highlighting the company itself, we concentrated on writing the About Us page and a guide to how the platform works.
Brand Book
After the initial meeting, where the client revealed their vision for the brand, the Designer began to work on the logo. She decided to take the elements that were shared across all designs and elements for the brand.
These were the steps we followed for a project of such dimensions:
-
Meet with the client and present questions regarding the company (values, vision, where the founders see their company in five years...)
-
The Designer takes those questions and the market research to bring down the first set of yeads.
-
We then meet once more to show the client the direction of the visual elements. It's always easier to fix the project early than to make changes when the project is on the brink of completion.
-
Once the feedback was received, the Designer adjusted the design accordingly and sent it forward for another review.
